Trespass (SPEAK)

Somewhere you are sleeping

Someone by your side

Something you’ve been doing

Most of your life.

Somehow I keep walking

Some part of me stays

Everything reminding me

It’s not my place.

There wasn’t any warning

No sign on the gate

Right from the beginning

It was too late.

How it felt like finding

One safe place to stand

When I was just trespassing

On guarded land.

Every move in your direction is a walk on stolen ground

A single word would be too much to say

Every touch could be the spark that sets this house to burning down

So all that I can do is stay away.

Didn’t you say our meeting

Was worth waiting for

Natural as walking through an open door

Go ahead and show me

A place I could call home

Don’t forget to tell me

It’s not my own.

Every move in your direction is a walk on stolen ground

A single word would be too much to say

Every touch could be the spark that sets this house to burning down

So all that I can do is stay away.

Every touch still stops my sleeping

From a thousand miles away

So all that I can do

All that I can do

All that I can do

Is stay away.
